home plot 2011: session one

Hey everyone, and welcome to Heroes Home Plot! Sorry it took me so long to get this up, but I had a particularly busy week at work. Hopefully we can still get all details squared away in time for Home Plot Session One. :D

This is kind of written assuming that you have Heroes season one knowledge, but if you don't, let me know! I will link to/write up relevant summaries.

Island characters include:

location and time

Everyone is to show up in New York City on November 7th, 2006, just after Peter has absorbed Ted Sprague's nuclear generation abilities. I'd like if some people showed up with Claire right away, but some people can show up elsewhere, so long as no one is stranded completely by themselves without any means of getting to Kirby Plaza. The possible locations for your chars include:

• With Claire as Peter Petrelli's ability threatens to go wrong the first time. Noah Bennet should also be present for this part of the plot, with Ted Sprague to show up later.
  
  
• With Nathan Petrelli as he worries about his falling poll numbers and ends up asking Daniel Linderman for help.
  
  
• With Sylar, who's trailing after Claire and Peter, some distance away, and will probably be a manipulative bastard who tries to convince your character that it's for the best.
  
  
• NEW: With Molly Walker, who... can find anyone, being the perfect GPS.
  
  
• Any other suggestions are welcome! (Eden in particular could show up anywhere else around New York, depending on what Stef wants, as she knows enough that she'd get herself to Kirby plaza and perhaps people could tag along with her.)

perceived powers and other differences

The general rule is that if your character has talked to Claire at all about having powers, they will have them returned to them in New York, only sometimes simplified. The exception to this rule is Clark Kent, who will be capable of doing all the things we generally associate with Superman (flying, laser eyes, man of steel, etc.).

Differences in canon characters:

• Eden will be alive!
  
  
• Noah is going to be less manipulative on the whole, as Claire still isn't able to fully process the extent to which her dad really does pull puppet strings.
  
  
• Sylar is going to be more ruthless. No confused Gabriel Gray will ever enter her mind. He's just unstable to the extreme, no remorse, no 'FORGIVE ME' hints, nothing like that. Just a sociopath.

general plot

This is just a very, very vague and overarching summary. I am amenable to basically any suggestions!

DAY ONE: Claire finds herself suddenly reuniting with Peter and Noah, a familiar conversation, except for the fact that a couple of friends turn up with her in the process. This throws her off enough that she tries to manipulate things so that Peter won't have to blow up, suggest that they get Ted Sprague and fly away so that Sylar can't follow. Sylar, having eavesdropped at that point, ends up following Claire and friends everywhere, trying to pick them off one by one until he's alone with Claire and/or Peter. Some may end up captured by Sylar and used as bait.

DAY TWO: In spite of her protests, Claire is whisked away by Angela and Nathan Petrelli with Noah's permission to keep her away from harm. Anyone with Claire at this point will see her power first-hand as she uses whatever means possible to get away from them and back to Peter. People with Sylar might undergo some trauma as he continues to use them as bait. Anyone with Peter is going to be trying to get away from New York for a time, before realizing that the final battle is inevitable. Everyone ends up at Kirby Plaza, just in time for showdown. No idea if the showdown will turn out like canon did, though...

Anyone labeled as 'NEEDED,' I will sock unless someone else steps in (but please do, I'd much rather only play Claire for this plot!). Other characters will be referenced in the background if not played, but probably won't become huge in this plot.

Also, Coraline is TOTALLY welcome. Claire will even feel a bit better knowing that... well, Coraline at least is already familiar with her power. 8)

It's crystal clear and also very pretty, I am very jealous of the skills going on here. Jeaaaaalous.

So difficult choosing just one SYLAR, definitely Sylar he is after all one of the most fascinating characters on the show. I'll pick season one up from work in the morning and watch it again tomorrow night.

Coraline would like to point out that see she totally told Claire she was a hero. As adorable as Molly with Coraline would be, I think she ought to stick close to Claire/or an adult when she turns up.

That is absolutely fine with me Anita does an awesome Sylar. Plus I adore Hiro equally and he really is just THAT AWESOME. Plus I have a journal and everything so Hiro it is. Just lemme know what, when, where you want him.

This sounds fantastic. 8D I'm scatterbrained and in a rush, so I don't have too much input just yet, but do you think it would be better for Eden to show up with Claire or separate? Separate might be better, since having the power of persuasion on Claire's side might simplify things too much, I don't know.

Hmmm... I actually think that it could work either way, with Eden. Even if she shows up with Claire, if they can't get a good pinpoint on where Sylar is at that time, or if Sylar's just quick enough to get around Eden, that might still be fun. Alternatively, we could also have Eden show up with someone else first who's able to get her to the main action, like Molly Walker or Nathan Petrelli. :o

Oh mannnnn, I kind of enjoy the idea of her showing up with Nathan. At the same time, I don't know how many threads you want to be juggling to start with, so with Claire might be easier? INPUT PLEASE, I am excited for everything. 8D

I am totally cool with ALL THE THREADS. Claire would probably be easier for me to write, which would progress the thread more quickly, but if Nathan is more interesting for you, I've been rewatching the last two eps a lot and feel like I could have a decent handle on him. Another option that's just popped up lately is Mohinder, since Lys got into game and she misses playing him (and plays the best Mohinder ever, I swear), though she's at work right now so I'd have to run that by her and see if she's up for it or not. There's also Shane and Noah, uhm uhm... I DON'T KNOW, what do you want to play against most? *___*

Because seriously, don't worry about overloading me, I am so excited for this plot. :D :D :D
